Job Description is looking for a Data Engineer for its Marketing & Media team inside the Data & Analytics department.

The activities of the Marketing & Media team are aimed at achieving the following goals:

  • Elevated Marketing Effectiveness: By delving into comprehensive data analysis and modelling of marketing and media campaigns, we endeavour to enhance the effectiveness of our strategies, resulting in heightened audience engagement and conversion rates.
  • Revenue Optimization: Through the meticulous optimization of data-driven marketing interactions and channels, our objective is to maximise customer engagement, retention, and ultimately, revenue generation for our digital initiatives.
  • Operational Efficiency: Leveraging our in-depth insights into marketing performance metrics and consumer behaviours, we strive to streamline operational processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and minimise unnecessary expenditures, contributing to cost reduction and resource optimization within the marketing and media domain.

The candidate will have the opportunity to become a key member of the team leveraging his/her engineering skills to acquire, manipulate, orchestrate and monitor data.

Data is at our core and its reliability and effectiveness have direct impact in producing actionable insights and improving business performances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and analyse functional needs, raw data and develop data dimensional models
  • Design, build and deploy data pipelines with a focus on automation, performance optimization, scalability, and reliability aspects
  • Helps the business to understand the data and find insights that enable the company to take data driven decisions
  • Leverage data and business principles to solve large-scale web, mobile and data infrastructure problems
  • Build data expertise and own data quality for your area


Skills and Experience


  • Proven experience of 2-3 years in data engineering or related role in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in working with relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience in custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance
  • Programming languages knowledge (e.g. Python, R, Scala)
  • Experience with workflow management engines (e.g. Airflow, Google Cloud Composer)
  • Experience in Data Modelling
  • Experience with data quality and validation
  • Experience working with cloud or on-prem Big Data/MPP analytics platform (e.g. AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery or similar)
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically with a strong attitude for problem solving
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken


  • Experience in analysing data to discover opportunities and address gaps
  • Experience with SQL performance tuning and E2E process optimization
  • Experience with anomaly/outlier detection
  • Familiarity with digital and e-commerce business
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Previous experience in the travel industry
